RATTLING AROUNG JUNEAU
Saturday April 27, 2019.
Day Two of the Glacier Bay Adventure!
After a good night sleep in Juneau, we had a leisurely
morning eating breakfast and shopping for Carhart Jeans. We went to Fred Meyers looking for sunglasses
and a card reader for Karen’s camera.
(because after numerous hours of reading the manual and trying to figure
out how to transfer photos from my new camera via wifi I just GAVE UP and
bought a chip reader!). BUT turns out
Fred Meyers has clothing too – and Jim bought new jeans. Then it was off to the Nugget Mall for more
jeans – but they were sold out – so we went to Western Auto and found more
jeans. WHO KNEW that you could buy jeans
at Western Auto??
Done with that – we went to the Mendenhall Glacier and looked
at geology. Then it was off to lunch in
Douglas at the Island Pub. We are now
resting before the finale` of the sightseeing – the Mt Roberts Tram! Should have some fantastic views from up
there (if I survive the tram ride without succumbing to vertigo……..)
More later from the Chronicles of the Petersens
