Celebration #1: Dad's Birthday

Celebration #1

In the Petersen family there are a series of landmark events this spring:  

Dad is 92! !  

Mom is 85!!

The parents are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary!!

For the first, I took them on a little driving trip, starting with the new tunnel, and up Hwy 99, then across the Edmonds/Kingston ferry.  From there we drove south past Suquamish (where Jo and Mark got married!  I think they are celebrating the big 20 this year as well!!) to Bainbridge Island and to Winslow.  We ate dinner at a lovely French bistro (Restaurant Marche) and then back on the ferry to Seattle.  All in all a great way to enjoy the sunshine and get out a little.  

Here is dad having espresso and creme brûlée, although he would argue that the pastis was the true highlight of the meal!
