And they are off!

Hello Birgit here.  Consider me the 'shore crew' as I am not attending.
A quick post with some more details.

A bit of back story about why this particular cruise and such.  Jim is actually working!  He is the guest geologist for the trip and will be doing some interpretive stuff and from what I understand, some lectures as well.  Naturally Karen came along because it's a great opportunity.

We were able to book Mom and Dad on the same trip and it made a ton of sense as Karen and Jim were already going.  That way they would have some help if needed and a more personal touch.

I was just texting with Karen, they are just underway.  They have had the safety lecture from the crew and it involves learning about what to do in case of emergency.

Mom figuring out how to don a life vest.

Then as a reward (hahaha) there is the cocktail hour and dinner to follow.  Karen says they are due in Glacier Bay at 6AM.  The beauty of this cruise company, aside from the fact that Karen and Jim know the owner and many of the crew, is that it is quite small.  I believe the capacity of the boat is on the order of 65 guests.  There are 3 levels, with berths on all levels.  On the 1st level is the dining room, on the second the lounge, and more viewing options up top.  How is it possible that I know all this from Seattle.  Unless I am mistaken, this is the same boat that we were on in the Sea of Cortez with Uncruise, a couple of years ago.  It is all very comfortable, but in no way a floating hotel.

Karen has sent some photos:
